ACCC Presents “Beacons By the Sea”
& A Glimpse Into Its Economic Impact
When NYC placed colorfully painted dogs all over the city, it gave tourists and residents something to talk about. It also created international and national publicity for the project, which raised money for charity.
Now Atlantic City has that opportunity, with Beacons by the
Sea, a similar project using lighthouses, which is being brought to South Jersey by ACCC.
Theresa DeFranco will describe the project while Richard Perniciaro, PhD., will discuss how to measure the economic impact on Atlantic and Cape May counties. He’ll also be giving ideas on how to measure and value the economic impact for projects that others may be planning—a helpful tool when looking for funding and support.
We will meet at Rifici’s Ristorante, 308 White Horse Pike, Absecon.
Menu Choices:
a.) Stuffed pork chops (stuffed with spinach, sausage, ricotta and parmesan cheeses and served with a mushroom demi-glaze sauce)
b.) Grilled salmon with a pesto sauce
Networking starts at 12 noon. The meeting and luncheon officially begin at 12:30
p.m. Cost is $20 for members, $30 for non-members.

PR Council Takes a "Snow Day!" - -
No Luncheon Meeting for February
Recent weather conditions (with businesses shut down
for multiple
days) have created a "flurry" of work for our members (no
pun intended!).
Many have expressed a regret that they will be
missing this month's meeting.
So we'll take a break for February and welcome in
the first week of Spring
by getting together to celebrate with good food and a fine program in
March..
Look for our next newsletter in the weeks to come!

Jan. 21st Program
PR Council Super Bowl Program
The PR Council of Greater Atlantic City will host a lighthearted meeting
January 21st by bringing in NFL Official Jim Kearney to prep members on
"Everything you need to know to watch the Super Bowl."
Kearney will give an overview on the game of football, the rules, the officials and share
anecdotes from his career in the National Football League.
Kearney, 69, began his officiating career in 1959, and worked his way
through the ranks from junior high school, high school and college games and
served as Commissioner of the Philadelphia Catholic High School Football
League from 1968-1978 before being accepted into the NFL in 1978. He served
as a Back Judge in the league (one of the first officials to be assigned a
triple digit number) through 1994, and today remains an observer and scout
for the NFL.
Kearney, who resides in Springfield, Pennsylvania with his wife, Regina,
still finds plenty of time outside of his work with the NFL and speaking
engagements to visit his five daughters and 17 grandchildren around the
Delaware Valley.
We will meet at Angelo’s Fairmont Tavern,
(MAP)
2300 Fairmont Ave., Atlantic City, N.J., in the upstairs room.
