Alan F. Arcuri
Professor
Alan Arcuri earned his B.A.
and M.A. from Michigan State
University and his Ph.D. in
Political Science from Brown
University. He has been a
college professor for over
37 years and has been
recognized for both his
teaching and advising
excellence.
His major
field of study is American
government and politics. He
is also very interested in
civic education. He has
lectured and led workshops
for high school teachers and
students on the successful
transition from high school
to college.
Professor
Arcuri's recent book,
Democracy and Citizenship,
is intended for both high
school and college
students. It argues that
government deserves much
more credit than it
receives. Further, it states
most politicians are honest,
able and dedicated public
servants. Stated
differently, those who
delight in bashing
government are often dead
wrong.
