JULIAN J. CASTELLANOS 

Julian Castellanos enlisted in the New Jersey State Police on July 28, 1988 as a member of the 111th New Jersey State Police Class.

He currently serves as a member of the New Jersey State Police Office of Public Information.

Sgt. J. Castellanos has served in various capacities during his two decades with the New Jersey State Police. His assignments have included, 1) General Road Duty Trooper (1988-1994), 2) Criminal Justice Information Systems Unit Auditor (1994-1997), Recruiting Unit (1997), 3) New Jersey State Police Academy Instructor (Physical Training Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Public Speaking Instructor, E.E.O. Liaison, Cultural Diversity Instructor/Coordinator, Supervision Course Instructor/Coordinator, Spanish for Law Enforcement Instructor/Coordinat or - 1998-2002), 4) Public Information Unit (2002), 5) State Governmental Security Bureau ( Sector Supervisor, Training Officer - 2002- 2007.

He currently serves in the New Jersey State Police Office of Public Information where he is the liaison for Latino print, television, and radio media.

Sgt J. Castellanos was born in Santiago de Cuba. He was raised in Hoboken, NJ, and currently resides in Toms River, NJ with his wife and three daughters.

He earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Saint Peter's College ('87), Jersey City, NJ and is currently pursuing his master's degree. He is a member of the 1) Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore - Board of Directors, 2) NJ Department of Law and Public Safety Credit Union - Board of Directors 3) National Latino Peace Officers Association - New Jersey State Police Chapter - Director. 

Sgt. Julian Castellanos is also a certified instructor for the 1) Anti-Defamation League A World of Difference Institute , 2) American Red Cross Shelter Management and Shelter in Place Courses, and 3) Girl Scouts of the USA. Sgt J. Castellanos has been married for 17 years and is the father of three daughters ages 14, 15, 16 and two male Yorkies.
