April's Program Speaker:

An Inside Look at Margate Communications

Join us on Tuesday, April 30, as Don Brooks of Margate Communications provides an inside glimpse into The Touch, The Buzz, WMID and other popular radio stations.

About Don Brooks
Don Brooks’ interest in broadcasting started at age 16. The Baltimore, Maryland native got his first part-time job at a radio station while in high school. That love of radio didn’t disappear—not with his first “official” job as a manager trainee at a major Baltimore bank, or during a stint with the Baltimore Police Department where he worked both as an officer and as a detective.

Don finally enrolled in the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland and began his first full-time employment in the business in April 1972. Since that time, Don has worked in a variety of positions: news, DJ, program director, sales manager, general manager and owner.

In 1987, he joined with partner Peter Koury to form Margate Communications. Their goal was to own and manage radio stations.

Don and his wife Ora moved to Atlantic City to put a brand new station on the air. The station became known as “The Touch.” Margate Communications now owns and operates nine FM stations and one AM station including The Touch, The Buzz and WMID.
