Borgata's Foundation Supports Boys and Girls
Club
Joe Corbo, General Council
for the Borgata Heart & Soul Foundation, right, delivered a $100,000
contribution to Dave Messier, Executive Director of the Boys and Girls
Club of Atlantic City during the November meeting of the Public
Relations Council of Greater Atlantic City.
~~~ ~~~
The "Heart & Soul" of The Borgata
On Tuesday, November 30, the PR Council welcomed Joe Corbo, VP and
General Counsel for the Borgata Heart and Soul Foundation. The
Foundation is the charitable arm of the Borgata, dedicated to making a
positive difference in the lives of others.
"Every other casino does their charitable giving through the United
Way," noted Corbo. "At the Borgata, we wanted to be different." So the
property set up its own foundation with virtually no administrative
overhead. Funds are provided by employee's voluntary contributions as
well as donations from Borgata vendors and friends.
Borgata employees support the Heart and Soul Foundation so strongly that
the dealers voluntarily donated their first two days of tips during the
community Open House days.
As a culmination to his talk at the meeting, Corbo presented a $100,000
check to the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City .
